Albrecht Gehe comes from an artistic family; his grandfather is the painter Ludwig G’schrey, his great-grandfather the painter Hans Haustein and his uncle the painter Paran G’schrey. Since 1981 he created freelance work in Leipzig. From 1984 to 1986 he stayed in Moscow and Sofia, where he worked and also exhibited. From 1987 to 1990 he was a master student at the Academy of Arts of the GDR under Bernhard Heisig and Harry Blume.
Gehse belongs to the Leipzig school before 1990. Since 1991 he lives in Berlin-Charlottenburg, his studio is on the island Eiswerder. Since 2003, his portrait of Helmut Kohl has been on display in the “Ahnengalerie” in the Federal Chancellery. (Source: wikipedia)
